Action Review – Elsa Peretti Tiffany Necklace for Sale at Auction
The 18k gold Mesh necklace weighs 32.10 grams and is marked Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. Dimensions: 26 inches x 1 inch. For sale in the March 5, 2021, Friday Night Jewels Online Auction. According to Vera Prather, Heritage Auctions Jewelry Director:
“Peretti transformed a scarf into a mesh gold necklace, and the style has remained popular and collectible for over 40 years. The necklace is a brilliant manifestation of her main idea – “to make jewelry which is easy…to wear”. The gold scarf feels like a fine fabric and lays beautifully on a black turtleneck or a simple dress. If you want to dress it up, attach a diamond brooch in the middle and it becomes a fancy event piece, or try wearing it around your waist as an accent belt!”
