Formed in 1972 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the Marshall Tucker Band are Southern rock icons standing toe-to-toe with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Oak Arkansas, ZZ Top, and other giants of the subgenre. Their inventive mix of driving rock rhythms, country swagger, and flourishes of blues and jazz resulted in a stew that has resulted in six gold and two platinum albums.
With a storied history (both triumphant and tragic) to match their massive influence on rock and country music, there are sure to be some phenomenal Marshall Tucker Band collectibles out there, and Heritage is excited to bring you a number of them in our July 9, 2022, Music Memorabilia auction!
Highlights include:
- A Fender Precision bass guitar played on stage by Tommy Caldwell at a Marshall Tucker show at Nassau Coliseum ten days before his tragic passing. This bass can be heard on the album Live on Long Island, and the band used it on several subsequent albums following Caldwell’s accident. Includes a framed letter from Jerry Eubanks attesting to the authenticity of the bass.
- A letter written by President Jimmy Carter to the band after appearing on stage with them in 1975
- A Jerry Eubanks stage-played flute
- Multiple RIAA awards presented to (and signed by) original MTB flutist/saxophonist Jerry Eubanks in recognition of several of their gold and platinum-selling LPs, including Carolina Dreams and others.
