About Hammerman Brothers Jewelry

Hammerman Brothers Jewelers was founded in the 18th century.  An ancestor broke family tradition and learned watchmaking, and in the 20th century, three brothers—Bernard, Benjamin, and Hyman—returned to the diamond trade by opening their own business in New York City, after completing their WWII service.

In the 1950s, a breakthrough design, the lady’s gold watch bracelet, catapulted them into the forefront of American jewelers.  What started out in gold was soon made in platinum, and then diamonds were added to the wristwatches. In the 1960s, Hammerman Brothers designed and manufactured gold bracelets for the Bulova Accutron, the world’s first fully electronic watch. The company specially manufactured the bracelet for the wristwatch presented to President Eisenhower.

Can You Still Buy Hammerman Brothers Jewelry?

This year marks the celebration of 75 years for the company, which is run today by descendants of the original three brothers.  The stunning jewelry is still designed and crafted in the Manhattan atelier, truly ‘Made in America’ Jewels.
