For most of his life, in a career that stretched over more than four decades, there were few people on the planet who were as popular, or identified as easily, as Michael Jackson.
Since his days as the young lead singer of the Jackson 5 through his solo career during which he earned the “King of Pop” moniker, he was beyond famous around the globe, drawing comparisons to the likes of Elvis Presley and the Beatles – and virtually nobody else – in both popularity and album sales.
In addition to his musical prowess, which inspired generations of other musicians, Jackson had a style like none other. He was known, at different times throughout his career for bright-colored (sometimes leather) suits, the red and black leather jacket, moonwalking in tight pants (before they were known as “skinny jeans”) that were a little too short and therefore revealed the socks and shoes that served as a spotlight on his incredible footwork, and the black leather jacket from his Bad tour.
But an argument can be made that no accessory or article of clothing from any point in his life is as notable as … the glove. From people adults dancing in nightclubs to kids trick-or-treating on Halloween, those who admired and imitated Jackson always wore the glove.

Owning a glove worn on stage by Michael Jackson is akin to owning a bat used in a game by Babe Ruth – it not only was used by a legend, but it is arguably his most well-known accessory.
The glove was worn during Jackson’s HIStoric 1996-97 HIStory World Tour and later donated to UNICEF to help with the organization’s fundraising. It can be an immediate collection centerpiece, one that quickly brings a flood of memories of one of the greatest musicians of all time, and will fit any collection like … well, you know.
