U.S. Coins — Collecting Guide by Heritage Editorial

Why is a penny less than 30 years old worth so much? It’s all thanks to a mix-up at the US Mint.

Heritage Auctions sold a rare 1992 penny with close AM in our November 20, 2020, US coins signature auction. Watch this video to learn more.

I have two Lincoln cents and one is blank on the front and the other one blank on the back. I have a few that are either DDO or DDR and a 1992 close AM penny. I’ve looked at the other 1992 pennies and the gap between the AM is wide and the one I have is almost touching. Could I send you pictures of the coins and see what you can do with them for me? Thank you so much for your time and help. Have a great day.

my penny is showing both.from no glare view they are wide
but when i see a outline of light or doubling perhaps the feet or line is easy to see they properly touch.

Wow! It’s really awesome to hear all these wonderful comments it hasn’t been quite in my budget lately to send in some coins to have them evaluated but one thing will really get you going my 1992 close am Lincoln cent list 8th grade just guessing at least a 65 or 66 that’s low-balling it wonder what I could get for that at an auction can I have you auction it off and pay for it at the end? LOL oh well I have four of them saved up but from what I’ve seen only one that’s going to make the grade wish me luck and I wish all of you look out there also thank you so much for your time
